The Art of Individuality with Jesse Boykins III

I met Jesse Boykins III out around LA a couple of times and I liked his style so I decided to reach out to him for an interview. I stopped by the recording studio he was at and got to hear him lay down vocals for some new material, which is always a cool experience. I shot his essential items for HYPETRAK and then shot some portraits outside of the studio and conducted an interview. I also wrote the introduction for the story as well. Jesse is definitely an interesting and unique guy and the conversation we had was so inspiring, I was glad I got to share it with everyone. Check out one of my favorite Jesse quotes from the interview below.

“I feel like the most important thing, and this is a process like anything, is loving who you really are and accepting the flaws and acknowledging the flaws in the moments that they are exposed. Especially when there’s people around, because then basically you’re challenging yourself. The more self growth there is, the more you appreciate everything that’s around you. I would say to start, be true to who you are, even if who you are is not who you want to be. It’s somewhere to start from.”
